How I can help
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be feeling anxious or overthinking, struggling in a relationship, exhausted by work, grieving a loss, or finding it difficult to say what you really think or need. These experiences often overlap. You may usually be someone who copes well and keeps things going, but criticism, disagreement, pressure or other people’s reactions may be affecting you more than they used to. The areas below describe some of the reasons people come to work with me. You do not need to fit neatly into one of them. They are simply a way of helping you find the part of the site that may be most useful to you.
Work Stress & Burnout →
If you are carrying a lot of responsibility, finding it difficult to switch off or keeping going despite feeling exhausted, counselling can help you understand what is driving the pressure and what may need to change.
Relationship Difficulties →
You may go quiet during disagreement, struggle to say what you need, give way to keep the peace or become frustrated after holding things in. We can explore what happens in these moments and how you might respond differently.
Anxiety & Overthinking →
You may replay conversations, second-guess yourself, anticipate other people's reactions or put pressure on yourself to get things right. Counselling can help us understand what keeps this cycle going.
Counselling for Men →
If you are used to dealing with things yourself, asking for help or talking openly about what you feel may not come naturally. Counselling can offer a different way of approaching what you are carrying.
Bereavement & Loss →
Grief can affect far more than sadness. You may feel numb, angry, lost or unsure how life fits together after someone dies or following another significant loss or change.
You may recognise yourself in more than one of these areas, or none of them may quite describe what is happening. You do not need to work out which category you fit into before getting in touch.
If something is affecting your wellbeing, relationships or ability to feel like yourself, we can begin by talking about what has been happening and what you would like to be different.
